First you are supposed to designate the currency pair chart you want to follow and right click on it to set up a price alert on MetaTrader 4 for Mac. From the context menu select “Trading,” choose “Alert.” On clicking this, it will open a window on which you can input the price level at which you want to be notified. Once you set the price, MetaTrader 4 for Mac will let you know when the market gets close to that level through a sound alert, an email or a push notification sent to your phone.
With MetaTrader 4 for Mac you may choose how and when you are alerted. The alert frequency can be adjusted, you are able to choose a specific sound to play when the alert is triggered and even set up an email notification. For those of you who really need a bit of a visual reminder, the platform can display a pop up on your computer screen.
If you want to set your alert preferences, click on “Tools” at the top of the platform, and choose “Options.” From here you can head over to the Events tab where you can set up sound alerts, email notifications, and pop ups. This lets you customize the way you want to get your notifications and receive a cue when it is most appropriate for you.
If you’re a trader and don’t have time to sit or stand in front of your PC, setting email alerts is a good option to be notified when you’re out of your computer. With MetaTrader 4 for Mac you can enable email notification when price reaches specified level or order is performed.
Setting up email alerts is done by configuring your email settings in the “Options” menu. Go to the “Email” tab and add your SMTP server details as well as your email address and login credentials. Then, once this is set up, you can choose which types of notifications you want to receive by email (e.g., price alerts, or even trade execution confirmations).
MetaTrader 4 for Mac lets you set up push notifications for mobile devices if you like receiving them right on your phone. Updates about your trades or the markets can be delivered to you quickly and easily via push notifications, when you’re on the move.
First, you’ll need to install MetaTrader 4 mobile app on your phone in order to enable push notifications. Next, jump to your MetaTrader 4 for Mac options menu, and click on the ‘Notifications’ tab. If you want to enter your MetaTrader ID (which links your desktop and mobile app accounts), you can do this from here. Once you have the connection created you can enable price alerts, trade status changes and more via push notifications.
Also, MetaTrader 4 for Mac provides the possibility for managing your alerts in an organized way. In the “Alerts” tab of the “Terminal” window you can see all your active alerts. You can see here a list of all price alerts you created with their creation time and their actual status. If you don’t need an alert anymore just right click the alert in this window and choose ‘Delete’ and it will be gone.
It’s also a very easy process to set up alerts and notifications on MetaTrader 4 for Mac so that you don’t need to keep your screen constantly open and alert to find out if there is a price movement or other market activity. Use price alerts, email notifications, and push notifications to be up to date and make timely purchase decisions. You can trade from your desk or on the go with these features so you don’t miss out on an important market event.
